Musical Structures for Metal and Water

Karlstad, 2016

cast aluminum (recycled)
540 x 1100 x 1100 cm

Commissioned by Karlstad Municipality

The sculpture group Musical Structures for Metal and Water is inspired by the interplay that occurs in the gaps between the industrial and the hand made, the urban city and wild nature. The design evokes water in a frozen gesture - a memory of the stretch of water that once covered the site, but over time has been turned to busy streets... Or sound waves in a musical greeting that forms an entrance to the city centre of Karlstad.
